Software
You may copy the TexTab programs and appropriate demonstration files. Unfortunately, the way in which browsers transfer text and binary files is not always well defined, so I have resorted to a rather ugly (but safe) method of naming the files. My convention is as follows:
- All text files (i.e. the input files to tabmusic, musictab and showtab, and the obfuscated source codes of these programs) have the extension `.html'.
- All executable program files have the extension `.gif'.
After you have downloaded the files, you will need to change the names as indicated. Note that, with Netscape, you will need to press <shift> (or some similar button) when you select a file.
The TexTab software is provided in two forms:
- As PC Object Code:
- These programs should run under Windows. The following files are available:
- The program `tabmusic' (called `tabmusic.gif', which you should rename `tabmusic.exe')
- The program `musictab' (called `musictab.gif', which you should rename `musictab.exe')
- The program `showtab' (called `showtab.gif', which you should rename `showtab.exe')
- As Obfuscated Fortran Source Code:
- This source code is written in Fortran-77, with some common language extensions. It has been `obfuscated' so that you will find it difficult to modify! The following files are available:
- The source code for `tabmusic' (called `tabmusic.html', which you should rename `tabmusic.for')
- The source code for `musictab' (called `musictab.html', which you should rename `musictab.for')
- The source code for `showtab' (called `showtab.html', which you should rename `showtab.for')
Also, a demonstration of `Foggy Mountain Breakdown' is available in both CMN and TN:
- The CMN version (called `foggy_mus.html', which you should rename `foggy.mus')
- The TN version (called `foggy_tab.html', which you should rename `foggy.tab')
